Confirmation 2010
Bishop Crispian will confer the Sacrament of Confirmation
on Friday 2nd July 2010
at 7.00pm in St Peter's Church.
Please pray for our Confirmation candidates and their families. |
Confirmation is one of the sacraments of initiation (along with Baptism and Eucharist).
It is about taking up your place as full members of Christ’s Church on earth – the community that is on the side of the poor and oppressed, that cares about God’s creation, sharing its Mission, its Communion, and the Eucharist. Will you take up the challenge of being a Christian in the modern world?
The confirmation programme is for young people aged between 13 and 18, and usually begins in the Autumn. It is spread over six months and includes reflections and activities such as:
• Looking into what it means to be a Christian today.
• Exploring the role you can fulfil in our community of faith.
• Seeing “The Life of Christ” – an all day open air dramatisation at Wintershall.
• Taking part in a Passover meal.
• Going on a weekend retreat. (Read more and see some photos...)
It culminates in the summer with the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation. If you are between 13 and 18 and have not yet been confirmed, please contact the Confirmation team via the Parish Office (01962 852804).
