God, our loving Father,
we honour the memory
of all those whose lives
were so tragically lost in the Holocaust
and in more recent genocides.
May their memory be for us a blessing.

This year, Holocaust Memorial Day is an opportunity to reflect on the whole idea of Untold Stories. During the Holocaust and other genocides, millions of untold stories were lost and will never be told. If we recall the Untold Stories of individuals and their communities, if we remember the victims and honour the survivors of the genocides so recent in our history, this will help us translate the words and lessons of the past into contemporary action, so that we may create a safer, better future for everyone.
