Confirmation is one of the sacraments of initiation (along with Baptism and Eucharist).

It is about taking up your place as full members of Christ’s Church on earth – the community that is on the side of the poor and oppressed, that cares about God’s creation, sharing its Mission, its Communion, and the Eucharist.

Will you take up the challenge of being a Christian in the modern world?

Preparation for confirmation is normally for young people aged between 13 and 17. It is spread over several months and includes:

* a weekend at the Cold Ash retreat centre in Berkshire
(24-26 February 2012);

* reflections on the Gospel and prayer, on the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit;
* looking into what it means to be a Christian today and the moral dilemmas you face;
* exploring the role you can fulfil in our Christian community of faith;
* preparing for the Confirmation Mass.

It culminates in the summer with the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation.
